The Urban Hike is an outdoor family celebration with proceeds benefiting Camp Fire USA Baltimore, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Camp Fire USA Baltimore serves hundreds of young people with experiential learning programs that are socially responsible and environmentally focused. http://www.discovercfusa.org
The Urban Hike event will feature guided hikes through one of the largest urban woodland parks
on the East Coast, hiker packs sponsored by Kashi Food and entertainment from local music groups including Baltimore's own- "Unity Reggae Band" and "Steve Pomplon Band".
Hikers will be guided 1.5 miles on the Gwynns Falls Trail, which travels through an environmentally valuable urban greenway in west Baltimore City along the Gwynns Falls stream valley. The Gwynns Falls greenway is the most complete system of linear parks in Baltimore and is composed of over 2000 acres of publicly owned land.
Admission includes a one hour guided hike and a post-hike celebration offering musical entertainment, raffle prize drawings and lunch provided by Sascha's, one of Baltimore's premier caterers based in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore City.
